About
IECW Library is housed in an area of 2500 sq. ft. There is a congenial atmosphere to users. With the generous contribution by the Management and the special interest taken by the Principal, the Library is being equipped steadily and systematically. Our college Library is well equipped in terms of the number of books, backvolumes and current journals subscribed. The use and services of our College Library are only for our students and staff members. The collection of the library includes books, journals, reports, standards, and the other richest collections in the field of Science and Technology.
The Central library has a collection of over 24500 documents covering all disciplines of Science, Engineering and Technology. The collection comprises books, conference proceedings, back volumes, standards, atlases, audio/video cassettes, CD-ROMS, etc. The Central library currently subscribes DELNET-IESTC e-journals as per AICTE referenced packages in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology.
Mission
The primary mission of the library is to support the educational programmers of the institution by providing physical and intellectual access to information. Consistent with the present and anticipated educational functions of the institution the library is updated. Library Working Hours All working days from 8.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m
Salient Features
The word library is derived from French "librairie" which means âbookâ. Library is a stimulus to reading; it helps develop a reading habit. Library is an apt place of wisdom useful for zealous students. The Central Library is a standing invitation to students to read books, newspapers, periodicals and other resources. Central Library provides calm areas for reading, it has a studious atmosphere, as you enter, and you will find lots of shelves occupied by books.
Central Library is an organized collection of books and information resources that are made accessible to students for reference or borrowing. The students access Central Library; they borrow books, read or take notes from reference section. Central Library benefits entire college students by proving comfortable chairs with strong tables in front, adequate lighting arrangements, and an experienced librarian to help support faculty and students. Salient Features
Central Library which is functioning under the open access system is having a total collection of 21000 volumes . The approximate annual addition is about 500 volumes. Circulation (i.e. issue and return of books) takes place through electronic and automation system and provide Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to our users in the LAN.

Rules & Regulations
Students are instructed to strictly adhere to the following rules while utilizing the library facilities.
- Library Timings: 8:30 a.m.- 6:30 p.m.
- Perfect silence should be maintained in the library.
- Students will be given 3 (Three) library tokens and books will be issued on producing of the library tokens.
- Issue and return of books should be done only during the specified library hours.
- Students can keep the book for 15 days at a time.
- Books should be returned on or before the due date.
- A fine of Re.1/- will be charged per day per book for returning the books after the due date.
- No replacement of a library token if lost, until enquiry.
- Any loss or willful damage to the library books, magazines or library property by the students will be severely dealt with and the loss will be duly compensated.
- Reference books, Magazines, Journals and dailies should not be taken out of the library.
- Journals / Magazines if found useful for projects or paper presentations, can be taken under âOvernight Issueâ. And if not returned the next day, a fine of Rs 1/- per journal or magazine per day will be collected.
- Only papers and writing instruments are allowed inside the library. Students are instructed to keep their belongings, if any, in the shelf kept outside the library, at their own risk.
- Writing or underlining on the books and journals will not be entertained.
- Misplacement of books/Magazines journals will not be entertained.
- Education CDâs and floppies can be lent for a period of one week.
- Anna University Membership Card is available in the library, using which the students and staff of Idhaya Engineering College can access the Anna University Library.
- Library follows Reservation System -If a required book is on issue, the student can reserve the book and as soon as the book and as soon as the book is returned, it is issued to the first reserved person. The priority for reservation: the Management/Principal/Staff/Final Year/Third Year/Second Year/First Year.
- Students and staff who leave the college for any reason at the end of a term/in the middle of the term should return the books before they leave.
Services
Current Awareness Service (CAS): This service provides the latest information to users in the area of Science and Technology and Engineering on demand.
Inter Library Loan (ILL): Books (not available with us), E-theses, E-journals, e-books,proceedings and articles may be obtained from other libraries on request. We are the institutional Member in Developing Library Network (DELNET). www.delnet.in and also a special portal are available for language learning and knowledge gaining.
Reference Service: Reference section has rich collections of international editions of reference books, hand books; conference proceedings encyclopediasâand various reference documents.
Digital Library: Digital library provides online resources for students interested in Computer aided learning. We also subscribe DELNET-IESTC engineering E-journals Packages; this provides access facility to 1380 journals and magazines. Electronic Library: The collection consists of CD-ROMs, Floppies and Audio-Video materials required for video courses.
Library Orientation: All the new students are introduced to the Library collections and services. The rules and regulations are instructed to them during the orientation program.
