Idhaya Engineering College for Women (IECW) was established in 2001. It was approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is a Christian Minority Institution. Two decades of excellence in engineering education enhance IECW’s reputation far and wide. Since its inception, IECW has emphasized engineering education for women under the committed leadership of The Franciscan Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary Congregation (FIHM), Puducherry.
IECW is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Institution. It has 2(F) status of UGC Act 1956 for central funding assistance. It holds institutional memberships with INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (ISTE) and COMPUTER SOCIETY OF INDIA (CSI). The undergraduate programmes of CSE and ECE are permanently affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. Several MoUs have been signed with MNCs and international universities for training, placement, and research programs.
IECW’s academic transformation towards research enables students to acquire high-end technology skills. The college imparts qualitative knowledge and skill-based professional education exclusively for women through competent staff and well-equipped infrastructure. Students have achieved excellent results in Anna University semester examinations, with several securing university ranks and meritorious students receiving special scholarships.
IECW offers top-class technical education for women along with career development and placements. The sports teams have won trophies in Zonal-level Ball Badminton, Shuttle Badminton, and Athletics. The establishment of the Idhaya Technological Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (ITETC) is a milestone. IECW also maintains a strong alumni network (OSAI – Old Students Association of Idhaya) for engagement and mentoring.
