In the 19th century, a wrong notion that women should not get educated was rooted in the minds of Indians. An educated woman felt shy to reveal that she knew to read. In the Diocesan Synod held in 1844, it was decided that a congregation of women was needed to liberate women from such disgrace. The proud privilege is that our Congregation is the First Indigenous Women Congregation in the continent of India.

Rev.Fr. Louis Savinien Dupuis M.E.P, a French Missionary established our Congregation in 16th of October 1844. The very next day, he started a formal school for girls namely ‘Immaculate Girls School’. The school functions in the same place since 1844. Our founder believed that by educating and empowering women the families could be built up in piety and morality. According to him, ‘A woman is the light of the family. True liberation of women is possible only through education. Realizing the need for technical education for women, the Congregation has taken a daring step to establish an engineering college. The establishment of this institution tries to educate women at a higher level in order to make them independent and self-reliant in the society.

Our founder’s dream was to empower women through education. The liberation today has been sharpened and has attained such a high level that it is able to improve the status of women and to bring them up as educated, skilled, committed, and courageous in the society.

I assure and hope that this college will continue to impart high quality professional education and make the women as 'Noble Women' and 'Successful Professionals' with self-confidence.
